Log #12

Monday 11/10: We got into Peer Review groups. We talked about not focusing on "I", and about how we need to include a wider group to help in persuasion. Mr. McArdle talked about how the school spent money on things like sodd and trees, and how they were just going to replace them later.

Wednesday 11/12: We all formed the circle of love. We reviewed Tim's paper adn reamarked on the article that he chose to write against. Mr. McArdle did some amazing math on the board to show that there is a big difference between useing percentages as opposed to actual number counts. Drudge presentd his paper to teh class and it was about makeing the Lafallet Complex's move to the "Cow Path" and increasing the size of other smoking areas.We talked briefly about useing contractions according to style and audience. Lastly James said underwear and we all got a good chuckle out of it.

Friday 11/14: Sarah presented her paper about chilhood obesity. We talked about how aweful it was to lose recess as kids. Shandi talked about her schools BS excuse for getting rid of recess. Which was students smell bad. We also talked about tone and how to use tone to get the audience on your side. jenna presented and Mr. McArdle emmphasized transitions. Lastly we were presented with a new schedule for next week.

WOTLK

You may be wondering what WOTLK means, and i will tell you it means Wrath of the Lich King which just so happens to be the expansion to World of Warcraft. This expansion is awesome in all aspects except the people who play the game. They can be real assholes about some things such as mineing materials and herbalism materials. I also forgot quests in general. But other than that it has been great so far.

I was trekking about the plains of Northrend today and came accross a strange monster named "Lunchbox". My first thought was who would name a monster Lunchbox...i mean seriously Lunchbox? But come to find out it was a quest monster and one thing led to another and i ended up killing the monster. That is about how my days have gone since this game came out. Everyone who plays wow good luck reachin Level 80!!!

Gears of War 2

Friday, Nov. 7: Gears of War 2 has finally come out. I have been waiting a long long time for this game, and it has lived up to my expectations. The only thing that needs improvement is the matchmaking process. They use a new system called the "True Skill System" that matches players based on skill. This system is kind of a pain because matches can take 5 minutes to find players of equal skill for your team and for you opponents but over all it is a great game.


Saturday-Sunday, Nov 8-9: Saturday I simply played gears and wow. Yes, even though gears has finally come out i still play lots of wow. I got my Merciless Gladiator glove and pauldrons today, making it a good day. I completed the story mode on gears and i played some Horde (game type on gears) and some of the other new game types on gears of war. Sunday was the same only i played much more wow than gears.

Class Assignment

Course Goals:
1. Well I believe that I do understand this goal, and that I am reaching it. If I wasn't seeking an answere or knowledge I wouldn't even bother to learn better writing skills.
2. You learn both visually and verbally so I believe that I have reached that goal. I understand that inquiry can come in both forms.
3. You have pounded into our heads that we need to know our audience.
4. I do not understand this goal.
5. Yes I understand this is a process, and that it takes time!!!
6. People will not take you seriously if you don't know what you are talking about.
7. Yeah, not a problem we do it all the time.
8. I have never written out of inquiry. All I have ever done is read out of inquiry.
9. Yes, I consider myself pretty responsible over all.

Course Content & Format:
1. I don't know how strong I am at this. I assume I will get better with time and practice.
2. Yes, we look at the formats all the time and how to move paraghraphs around to better communicate the writing.
3. Yes, we make outlines and do drafts.
4. We do this on every paper we have ever writen.
5. My organization is not very good, but hopefully with time that will change.
6. I don't remember how many we have done but I am sure by the end of this semester/year I will have.
7. No I dont think we have done that yet.

University Core Curriculum Goals:
1. Yes even though alot of the stuff we have to learn is of no use to us as a career. But i suppose it is good to know useless info incase we are on jeopardy.
2. Yes I can communicate just as well as everyone else.
3. Yes I have no feelings about others beliefs good or bad.
4. I don't know, I only hope when a situation does arrises that I am up to the task.
5. You have to, to survive.
6. I am still working on that one. I don't know what I want to do with my life.

Fall Break!

Friday I went and watched the Max Pain movie with some friends. It was awesome! They could have done alot better but it was good anyway. I have played the game before but I couldn't remember the story. All I did remember was that his family was brutally killed. This movie was good and everyone should go and see it!

I found out I did really well on my psych test (for me anyway), so thats pretty awesome. I also did well on my CJC 101 test...after the curve that is. I am already dreading school on monday, but hopefully it will be a good week.

Another Week

This last week has been very stressful. I hate having to wake up early and get ready, then drive all the way to class. This process everyday is slowly warring on my nerves. But at least we are now one week closer to finishing this year.


On Saturday I played WOW. I could have gone hunting with my dad but I decided that I had not practice enough with my bow to feel comfortable shooting at an animal. My dad and I have always said it is better to miss than wound and not kill what you are shooting at, so I decided not to take the chance. It turned out to be a good thing that I didn't go because they didn't even see a deer.

Brisingr

I finally go the new Eragon book Brisingr. I has been very good so far. I cant wait to read more, but I have been buisy. I hit 61 in wow which is awesome because it takes way longer to level up from 60 to 61 than it does from 59 to 60. So I gave myself a big pat on the back. Also if you are reading this and you have not see the videos I previously talked about make sure that you do. They are incredibly hilarious.

Friday, October 26, 2008- Today I was sitting in the library with some friends. All was well but still boreing and hot. It is always hot in that library so I hate to spend too much time in there. Well anyway another friend of mine showed up and told us about Neg's Urban Sports which is the funniest thing I have seen in a long time. After about half an hour of watching them, I regretibly had to go to class. But readers should definetly check it out. Make sure to watch them all this one was just the first one I watched, but make sure to watch Big Stranger Rodeo and Knock And Don't Run.

The Best Week So Far

Monday, Sept. 8: This was a good day. I was sitting in the library all bummed out about having to go to Psychology when I found out it was cancled. It was the first time a class had been cancled for me. Needless to say I was very excited and got several strange looks when I said "Hell Yeah" out loud in the library. I can only hope that will happen more often.

Saturday, Sept. 14: Today i had some friends over. It was epic. We played Metal Gear Solid 4 and WOW. It reminded me of the good old times. The whole day was spent telling jokes, makeing fun of each other, and saying movie and game quotes and asking each other what movie or game it was from. If you got it wrong though you were made fun of mercilessly for about 30 seconds, or less if someone thought of a new quote. The highlight of the night was while we were watching Bleach one of my friends eyes became swollen shut for no reason. He will surely recover by the morning but it was kind of funny to look at but made me feel bad at the same time.

Still the Weekend

WOW is comsuming my life. It is a good game but i still need to take it in moderation. I am not a big sports fan but i am still excited about the new season of the NFL. So I hope it turns into a memerable one....GO COLTS!!

The Weekend

This weekend I have done nothing. It has been nice since last week was kind of hectic. I have been playing a lot of WOW. I didn't get to go to the game but I did get to enjoy the awful traffic.

Grandpa's gun, Grandpa Day's gun, Stuffed animal, Videogame systems, Xbox 360, Playstation 1/2/3, Pokemon Cards, Photo of Booger, Video games(Resident Evil,Devil May Cry,Super Mario Brothers, Duck Hunt, Galiga, Packman, Soul Reaver, Tenchu 1-Z, God of War 1-2, Smaurai Sword). I always wanted a sword finally got one about 8 yrs ago and now I collect them. But I also love videogames and have played them all my life
